PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unevenness in conveyance when feeding papers and reduce an interval of conveyance of papers. SOLUTION: The paper 24 loaded on a paper tray 52 is fed out by a nudger roller 54 and a feed roller 56 to convey it to a conveyance roller 62. The nudger roller 54 and the feed roller 56 are driven by a motor 66 capable of switching rotational speed. A sensor 64 for detecting the paper 24 is arranged on the downstream side of the feed roller 56, and a control part 70 controls the motor 66 based on detection timing of the sensor 64. The nudger roller 54 and the feed roller 56 are rotated to feed papers preliminarily, detect the time from the start of preliminary paper feeding to the arrival at the sensor 64, and switch rotational speed of the nudger roller 54 and the feed roller 56 based on the results of detection so that the time from the start of preliminary paper feeding to the arrival at the conveyance roller 62 becomes fixed time T, thereby suppressing unevenness in conveyance.
