The invention relates to a low-pressure mercury amalgam lamp (1) arrangement comprising an amalgam reservoir (2) and a cladding tube (4) that surrounds the lamp. The lamp is provided with a mechanical contact with the cladding tube in the area of the amalgam reservoir. The invention is characterized in that the lamp is annularly enclosed by a metal strip (3) in the area of the amalgam reservoir (2). Said metal strip (3) rests against the lamp. Alternatively, a thermally conductive layer (3) is applied in the area of the amalgam reservoir. The metal strip or said layer represents the mechanical contact with the cladding tube.
