PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive unit excellent in visibility and an illumination effect in a dark place in a slot-in type disk drive unit. SOLUTION: An aperture 3 for inserting and ejecting a disk D is formed on a case 1. A rotation member 10 has a disk contact section 12 which is in contact with an end face of the disk D, and a light source 16 is set in the disk contact section 12. When the disk D is conveyed, the rotation member 10 is rotated while the disk contact section 12 is in contact with the end face of the disk D, and the light from the light source 16 is made incident inside of the disk D from the end face of the disk D and the disk D emits the light.
