PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To especially improve conductivity between a slider and a support member and to suppress the electrostatic discharge of a thin film element for recording and/or for reproduction provided in the slider. SOLUTION: After applying a conductive resin onto the slider joining surface of the slider by a device 42, a voltage is applied to an insulating layer 41 under a conductive resin film 40 by the device 42 further. Then, the dielectric breakdown of the insulating layer 41 occurs. Thus, the conductivity between the conductive resin film 40 and a tongue piece 24a is improved; thereby the conductivity between the support member and the slider is improved, and the magnetic head device capable of suppressing the electrostatic discharge (ESD) of the thin film element more effectively than before is obtained.
