PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liner motion machine having a damping mechanism capable of damping an impact load when pressing is stopped without increasing the overall length. SOLUTION: In this linear motion machine 10, an outer tube 30 is connected to a housing 20 secured to an installation surface, an inner tube 50 is slidably inserted into the outer tube 30, and a male screw shaft 22 advancing and retreating in the axial direction is stored in the outer tube 30. The damping mechanism 60 formed of an elastic member 62, a stopper 64, and a pair of spring holders 66, 68 is installed in the inner tube 50. Consequently, the impact load when the linear motion machine 10 stops pressing can be damped without increasing the overall length. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
