PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity universal joint in which a high operating angle more than before is realized by positioning balls on the outside of an outer joint member without allowing the balls to fall. SOLUTION: In this DOJ type constant velocity universal joint, the ball center locus C1 of the outer joint member among the ball center loci C1, C2 of two guide grooves 1b, 2b in the outer joint member 1 and an inner joint member 2 is used as a first straight line part parallel with a joint center axis, and the ball center locus C2 of the inner joint member is used as a second straight line part de parallel with the first straight line part ab in a predetermined area in which the locus is passed through the center of the joint and crossing a vertical line vertical to the center axis of the joint and used as arcuate parts cd, ef around the axis B of the outer diameter spherical surface 2a of the inner joint member 2 in a predetermined area from both ends of the second straight line part de to the outside. The center positions B, A of the inner diameter spherical surface 4c and the outer diameter spherical surface 4d of a cage 4 is offset by an equal distance f in the opposite direction from the joint center O along the center axis of the joint.
