PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous hair washing agent having foam quality with good foaming and slipperiness when washing the hair, imparting gloss, elasticity, tenseness, stiffness, etc., to the finished hair and excellent also in cohesiveness of the hair. SOLUTION: The aqueous hair washing agent comprises (A) eucalyptus or its extract and (B) a sulfate-type surfactant being a sulfate represented by the formula R-O-(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>O)<SB>n</SB>-SO<SB>3</SB>M [R is an 8-18C alkyl or alkenyl group; n is 0 or a positive integer; M is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or ammonium] and composed of 30-45 wt.% sulfate wherein n is 0, 18-27 wt.% sulfate wherein n is 1, 10-20 wt.% sulfate wherein n is 2 and the residual amount of sulfate wherein n is≥3, in which total of sulfate wherein n is 0-2 is≥70 wt.% based on total sulfate.
