PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance steering stability in cornering in which a vehicle is greatly inclined in a pneumatic tire for a motorcycle. SOLUTION: When left and right halves are equally divided to three parts while clamping a tire equator plane CL of a tread 28 and are made into an area 28a close to a tread end, an intermediate area 28b and an area 28c close to a tread center from a tread end side, in thickness of the tread 28 arranged at an outer side in a tire radial direction of a spiral belt layer 22, tread average thickness T1 of the area 28a close to the tread end is made thicker than tread average thickness T2 of the area 28c close to the tread center. Since the tread thickness of a portion ground-contacted when the vehicle body is largely fallen, i.e., the area 28a close to the tread end is made thicker than the tread thickness of the area 28c close to the tread center, motion in a longitudinal direction on a shoulder side of the tread 28 can be relaxed while increase of weight of the tire is suppressed to the minimum degree and the steering stability can be enhanced in cornering by generation of large camber thrust.
