PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside hood structure for a vehicle connection unit capable of effectively reducing noise and the traveling resistance in a high-speed traveling mode, and excellently following large displacement input at the branch in a yard track when the structure is mounted on a connection unit of a high-speed railroad vehicle traveling at a speed exceeding 300 km/hour. SOLUTION: The outside hood structure 1 for the vehicle connection unit to be mounted on both edge of a railroad vehicle facing each other at the connection unit of the railroad vehicle comprises a rubber membrane body 2 covering the connection part and forming a smooth surface between front and rear vehicles, a supporting member 3 supporting the rubber membrane body 2 outward of the vehicle from a mounting part of the rubber membrane body 2 on the vehicle connection faces, and an air chamber arranged between the supporting member 3 and the rubber membrane body 2 to adjust the rigidity between the vehicle connection faces of the rubber membrane body 2.
