<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication network for combining functions of a full mesh optical WDM network and an optical broadcast network. <P>SOLUTION: The optical communication network includes an optical signal multiplexer/demultiplexer that is connected to each of first optical signal transmitter-receivers 102 each provided to each of N communication nodes 103 and connected to a second optical signal transmitter-receiver 104, the optical signal multiplexer/demultiplexer transmits optical signals with a wavelength of a first wavelength band from the first optical signal transmitter-receivers to the second optical signal transmitter-receiver, the second optical signal transmitter-receiver respectively converts the optical signals of N kinds at maximum into optical signals respectively with predetermined wavelengths, and applies wavelength multiplexing to the converted signals, and the optical signal multiplexer/demultiplexer branches the optical signals subjected to the wavelength multiplexing from the second optical signal transmitter-receiver to all the N communication nodes, and transmits N-1 kinds of optical signals subjected to wavelength multiplexing by a wavelength within a third wavelength band coming from a certain communication node to all the different communication nodes except the certain communication node. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
