<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing image quality deterioration by providing not only a means for detecting toner deterioration from an amount of electrostatic charge of toner but a detection means for detecting the toner deterioration by stirring of the toner in a developing device with sufficient accuracy and a control means for suppressing the image quality deterioration in the toner deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a voltage impression means for impressing developing bias to a developer carrier 65; a current detection means for detecting current output from the voltage impression means; a detection means 71 for detecting developer concentration in the developing device 2; detection means 120a, 120b for detecting density of a toner image made into a clear image on the image carrier 1; and the control means for controlling image forming conditions based on detection results of the detection means, wherein the current detection means detects a rising part of developing current generated in development, and the control means judges developer conditions based on its detection results and controls developing conditions and transfer conditions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
