<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily preventing failure caused when an attached belt member is unadaptable with simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: a belt body 51 having a part to be detected 58 and turning; a detection means 59 for detecting the part to be detected 58; a toner image forming device P for forming a toner image at a predetermined position of the belt body 51 based on a detection signal from the detection means 59; and a comparison means 111 for comparing the detection signal with a reference signal, and has a means 111 stopping the apparatus based on the result of comparison by the comparison means 111. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
