<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag system for protecting a pedestrian providing stable development behavior of an airbag. <P>SOLUTION: Since a backwardly inflating unit 15 to be turned around the side face of a front pillar 2 is integrated with an upwardly inflating unit 14 of an airbag 9, the backwardly inflating unit 15 abuts on the side face of the front pillar 2, the force directed outwardly in the vehicle width direction with respect to the upwardly inflating unit 14 is generated, and balanced with the force collapsing inward of the vehicle width direction during the original inflation of the upwardly inflating unit 14, the development behavior of the upwardly inflating unit 14 is stabilized, and the upwardly inflating unit 14 can be reliably developed along the front pillar 2. Since a strap 17 is provided between the backwardly inflating unit 15 and the upwardly inflating unit 14, any unexpected jumping of the backwardly inflating unit 15 caused by an impact during a collision, and the backwardly inflating unit 15 can be maintained in a normal backwardly-directed state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
