<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to safety improvement by enhancing collision avoidance capability for an object in the traveling direction of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle speed control system is provided with a cruising controller 34 and an acceleration regulation device 37. The cruising controller 34 executes a cruise control for controlling a driving source 11 so as to generate a driving force for maintaining a target vehicle speed when an object was not detected by an object detector 25 in the traveling direction of a vehicle, or when this object was not determined as a following subject by a following subject determination device 32. The acceleration regulation device 37 executes an acceleration regulation control for controlling a driving source 11 so as to limit acceleration of the vehicle 10 prior to the execution of the cruise control when the object was not determined as the following subject by the following subject determination device 32, as well as a predetermined acceleration regulation condition being satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
