PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve, more substantially than ever before, operating efficiency such as contents and data management, high-speed access (cue) to videos and sounds at the time of viewing and listening them, and edition or the like. SOLUTION: Scenes of the contents are manually or automatically registered or the videos and sounds of the contents are recognized to be converted into character data. Then, by interpolating the character data in a data unit for making up video frames or by recording the character data on an exclusive file of the character data together with a time code, meta data or the character data for marking a scene are recorded on a medium as meta data relative to the contents (101, 105).
