PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the user of an imaging apparatus recognize surely the possibility exists that a photographed image may not be stored. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus (100) communicable with an image processor (300) via a communication path comprises an optical finder (104), an electronic finder (28), a mode dial switch (60) selecting any one of a still imaging mode or other mode, a recording medium (200), means (50, 94) for deciding whether the recording medium is available, communication means (110, 112), a control means (50) for inhibiting photography, if the electronic finder is off when the still imaging mode is selected during communication with the image processor and the recording medium is decided as being unavailable, and permitting photography, if the electronic finder is on and inhibiting communication of the photographed image to the image processor, and a means (28) of notifying the control content.
