PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable gain amplifier capable of stably operating by suppressing unwanted oscillation or the like of an amplifier. SOLUTION: The variable gain amplifier consists of a 1-input 2-output switch for receiving an input high-frequency signal; a 2-input 1-output switch; an amplifier and a bypass line connected in parallel between an output terminal of the 1-input 2-output switch and an input terminal of the 2-input 1-output switch; a power source circuit for supplying power of the amplifier; and a power switch for performing control to turn on/off the supply of power of the power source circuit to the amplifier. When the 1-input 2-output switch and the 2-input 1-output switch are switched to the amplifier side, the power switch is turned on, and when the 1-input 2-output switch and the 2-input 1-output switch are switched to the bypass line side, the power switch is turned off.
