PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of rigidly fixing two-split gear housing parts, and maintaining high mounting accuracy such as alignment in a rotary direction. SOLUTION: In this steering device, a gear housing 3 for storing a rack shaft 4 is split into two, and right and left gear housing portions of the two-split gear housing 3 are integrally connected. A hook part 21 formed at one part of an outer periphery of a connection part of one gear housing part is meshed with a hook part 22 formed at one part of an inner periphery of the connection part of the other gear housing part. An outer face (inner face) of a portion which is a connection of one (other) gear housing part and is communicated with a meshed portion is threaded. A stop 30 which is fitted between one gear housing part and the other gear housing part and fixed with screws, so as to pressurize one gear housing part and the other gear housing part.
