The bench (1) has a seat part (2), and a backrest (3) that is adjusted in and against a driving direction of a motor vehicle. Armrests (5, 5`) are arranged in an outer side of a vehicle seat. The armrests are misaligned from a perpendicular retaining position into a horizontal exertion position depending on the adjustment of the backrest. The armrests in its retaining position form a part of a bearing surface (8) for a rear of a seat passenger. The armrests are arranged at a rear wheel house of a vehicle and stay in effect with the backrest.
