<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress tension fluctuation in a continuous paper due to the expansion and contraction of the continuous paper at a fixing part. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of fixing a full color toner image on the continuous paper P by a flash fixing apparatus 52, the continuous paper P thermally expands and contracts. Even if the position of a tension application roll 60 of a buffer part 200 shifts in accordance with the expansion and contraction of the continuous paper P, the position of an arm 66 is detected, and the rotating speed of a sub drive roll 61 is controlled by a control part so that the tension application roll 60 may be always positioned in a regular position.
