PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method capable of certainly informing a mating communication party of the correct presence information of a waiting communication party, and enabling the mating communication party to communicate with a waiting terminal certainly based on the informed correct presence information of the waiting communication party. SOLUTION: In a system, a mating communication party communicates with the waiting terminal of the waiting communication party via a mating terminal on the basis of the presence information representing the communicable state of the waiting communication party. The presence information representing the communicable state of the waiting communication party and identification information for identifying the mating terminal to be a transmission destination of the presence information are set in the waiting terminal, the mating terminal is specified based on the set identification information from the waiting terminal, and the presence information is also transmitted when a first transmission request to the specified mating terminal is made.
