PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system which is capable of performing authentication for getting permission for output through an easy method without adding any additional devices; and to provide a method of controlling an image forming device, an image readout device, and the image forming system. SOLUTION: A job forming means lets a first image readout means read out a first object of interest to form a document 81, and also read out a second object of interest to form a key image 82; and forms a job 83 containing the formed document and the key image. In this job 83, an authentication means makes a second image readout means read out an object of interest and form an image, authenticates whether the job is performed or not on the basis of the formed image and key image 82 contained in the job 83, and prints out the documents contained in the permitted job by an output processing means when the execution of the job is permitted by the authentication.
