PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device (a printer) provided with a display part, a contact or non-contact memory communication function that automatically switches a language and a font size depending on contents of a memory ID utilizes the automatic switching to thereby remove the burden of setting of the language and the font size or the like through the depression of keys by a user. SOLUTION: The image recording device (printer) includes: a language information recording means such as an ID tag provided with information for switching a language to be displayed; and a communication means for making contact or non-contact communication, and changes the language to be displayed depending on contents of the language information recording means. Further, the image recording device (printer) includes: a font size information recording means such as an ID tag including information for switching the font size; and a communication means for making contact or non-contact communication, and changes the font size depending on contents of the font size information recording means.
