PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to use data before data erasure again after the data stored inside an optical disk are erased in an optical disk recorder. SOLUTION: Before the data erasure, a data read means reads file management information for managing user data from the file management information area A of the optical disk, and a control means writes the information in an external storage device and/or a RAM and saves it. After saving the information, a data recording means records the data for erasing the file management information in the file management information area A. In accordance with the signals of a data erasure cancellation instruction means, after the data erasure, the control means reads the saved file management information from the external storage device and/or the RAM. The data recording means restores the information in the file management information area A.
