PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw type filtration and dewatering apparatus capable of preventing compaction and solidification of dewatered cake in a space between a pressure regulating valve and an annular valve seat during the operation, sufficiently discharging the dewatered cake inside even when performing the idling when the operation is completed, and requiring no periodical cleaning work while opening the pressure regulating valve. SOLUTION: A starting end opening part of a filtration body 1 formed in a cylindrical shape forms a sludge sending-in port 3, a screw conveyor 5 is fitted to a center hole 4, and a pressure regulating valve 7 facing an annular valve seat 6 fixed to a terminating end opening part of the filtration body 1 is attached to a screw shaft 5S. A space between opposing faces of the pressure regulating valve 7 and the annular valve seat 6 is freely adjusted to form a sending-out port 9 of dewatered cake. Stirring blades 8 are projected on an inner end face of the pressure regulating valve 7, and tips of the stirring blades 8 are directed toward the inside of the terminating end opening part of the filtration body 1.
