PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that it is difficult to apply heat only to an end to be melted of a fishing line and the heat is frequently transmitted even to a part of the fishing line which is not to be melted though a method for melting the end emerging from a knot of the fishing line with a lighter, forming a swelling at the end of the fishing line and thereby preventing the untying of the knot is effective. SOLUTION: An apparatus for local heating is designed to surround a flame part of a turbo lighter with a single or a double cylinder, cut off the heat generated from the flame with a wall formed from the cylinder (punk 4), form a hole 5 communicating with the inner flame in the abdominal part of the cylinder (punk 4) and introduce the end of the fishing line A into the hole 5.
