<p>Polymer from an extruder (1) is fed by a multiple pump (5) through a number of parallel branch lines (8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4) to filters (11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4) of different fineness. The rise of pressure with time is measured (13) separately for each filter. A relief valve and bypass (15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4) diverts the flow when a maximum pressure is reached. The extruder output is controlled (3) according to the input pressure of the pump (5). An independent claim is included for the corresponding apparatus. The pump (5) is a planetary gear pump with multiple outlets. The filters (11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4) can have different free filter areas or be made of different materials.</p> |
