<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can suppress wrong use of a recording medium in which information is not written in an IC tag. <P>SOLUTION: Contents written in the IC tag are checked during conveyance of a paper. In the case where the written contents include an error, an error processing is executed, and a process of distinguishing the paper from normal ones is carried out. By carrying out the process, a user can recognize whether or not a paper discharged into a paper discharging tray 26 is the paper whose written contents in the IC tag 70 include the error.
