<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of an image forming apparatus by appropriately detecting an abnormality in the apparatus in the image forming apparatus provided with an image forming means forming an image on recording material, an image heating member heating the image on the recording material in a nip part, a temperature detecting means detecting the temperature in the image heating member, a control means controlling the temperature of the image heating member according to output of the temperature detecting means and a cooling means cooling end part sides in width direction of the image heating means according to the width of the set recording material. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a temperature detecting means detecting the temperature in the end part sides in the width direction more than the temperature detecting means for the image heating member and an informing means informing of a setting abnormality in width of the recording material according to output of the temperature detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
