PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition that forms a film having a retardation value preferable as an optical film. SOLUTION: The composition comprises at least one kind of a compound represented by general formula (I) (L<SP>1</SP>and L<SP>2</SP>are each a single bond or a bifunctional connecting group; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent group; R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each a substituent group; n is an integer of 0-4; when n is≥2, a plurality of existing R<SP>3</SP>s are each the same or different or mutually bonded to form a ring, if possible; m is an integer of 0-4, when n is≥2, a plurality of existing R<SP>4</SP>s may be the same or different or mutually bonded to form a ring, if possible; X<SP>1</SP>is an integer of 1-5; when X<SP>1</SP>is≥2, a plurality of existing (R<SP>4</SP>)<SB>m</SB>each may be the same or different; R<SP>41</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a substituent group) and a cellulose compound.
