PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembly efficiency of a tapered roller bearing; and to reduce rotational torque. SOLUTION: A rib end 5d of a retainer 5 is bent to an axial direction inner side, and thereby, a tapered roller is supported by a small annular part 5a of the retainer and the rib end when a small diameter end face of the tapered roller is caught by a pocket 6 when assembling the tapered roller to the retainer. Accordingly, the tapered roller is held in the stable posture, and the tapered roller is smoothly assembled without being tilted to the circumferential direction. Further, circulation of lubricating oil is improved by a cutout in a pillar part of the pocket of the retainer on a narrow side, and an amount of the lubricating oil retained in the bearing is reduced, and torque by flow resistance of the lubricating oil is reduced.
