<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of detecting and correcting uneven charging of a surface of a photoreceptor in a rotation axis direction, in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 20 rotates a photoreceptor 10 and removes residual charges on the surface of the photoreceptor by a charge removing lamp 12 with an initially set initial charge removing light quantity and charges the photoreceptor 10 from which charges have been removed, by a charger 11. The control part 20 measures a surface potential of the charged photoreceptor 10 by a surface potential sensor 14. The surface potential sensor 14 measures the surface potential of the photoreceptor from one end to the other of the photoreceptor within a time of one rotation of the photoreceptor 10. The control part judges whether a potential difference between the measured surface potential of the photoreceptor 10 and a reference surface potential exceeds a limit surface potential difference or not and increases a charge removing light quantity of a LED radiating light to a position of the photoreceptor 10, where the potential difference exceeds the limit surface potential difference, when it exceeds the limit surface potential difference limit surface potential difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
