<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the cloning of an inhibitor of DNA synthesis using a functional assay. <P>SOLUTION: An expression vector cDNA library derived from senescent cells is used to isolate cDNA clones encoding the inhibitors of the DNA synthesis. The inhibitors play a role in cellular senescence and aging and tumor formation. The present invention relates to such molecules, these inhibitors, antagonists, antisense nucleic acids against such molecules and derivatives.
