<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-power-consumption pulse rate measuring instrument capable of precisely measuring a pulse rate even if the instrument is deviated in the pulse rate measuring instrument measuring the pulse rate of a subject, especially, in an art capable of measuring the pulse wave using a light emitting element and a light receiving element even if the subject is in a non-resting state. <P>SOLUTION: This pulse rate measuring instrument detecting the pulse wave on the wrist of a subject and measuring the pulse rate is disposed with a thin film on the skin of the subject, detects the displacement of the thin film by the pulse by a photosensor consisting of the light emitting element and the light receiving element, and measures the pulse rate since the displacement is synchronized with the pulse. The use of a gel material, which is efficient when the thin film displaces along the surface external shape of the wrist, can enlarge the displacement of the pulse to enable a highly reliable measurement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
