PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for allowing an external apparatus to confirm an operation performed in an imaging apparatus, when the imaging apparatus is connected to the external apparatus and controlled, and accurately performing the operation from the external apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for setting imaging functions from the external apparatus includes a connecting means for connecting the external apparatus so as to be communicatable; an operating means for setting imaging functions; a setting means for setting the imaging functions which are set by the external apparatus; and a reporting means for reporting to the effect that the operating means has set the imaging functions during the setting of the imaging functions by the external apparatus, when the operating means sets the imaging functions.
