The device has a line arrangement for guiding measurement serving electromagnetic waves with propagation characteristics. The line arrangement is designed as an electromagnetic delay line, where the delay line has a sinuosity-shaped running line and a spiral running line. The line arrangement entire-vertically extends in a container from a possible highest level up to a possible lowest level of a filling medium. The electromagnetic delay line has a surface coating that is made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for radar measurement of a fill level of a filling medium in a container.
