<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of reducing switching loss and heating loss, and capable of reducing its size. <P>SOLUTION: This power converter includes: a cascode element 20 having a power semiconductor switching element 21 in which one of main electrodes is connected to a positive terminal 10, and a MOSFET (Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) 22 connected between the other main electrode of the power semiconductor switching element and a negative terminal 11; a high-speed diode 30 in which a cathode electrode is connected to the positive terminal, and an anode electrode is connected to the negative terminal; a power semiconductor switching element drive circuit 60 which is connected between a control terminal and the negative terminal of the power semiconductor switching element and which controls a potential difference between the control terminal and the negative terminal to a predetermined value or less; and a MOSFET drive circuit 70 which is connected between the control terminal and the negative terminal of the MOSFET and which controls the MOSFET. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
