<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing toner, which enables sizes of toner particles to be freely controlled, and which can obtain a narrow particle size distribution, and to provide the toner. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a step of producing a colorant dispersion by mixing a reactive emulsifying agent and a colorant; a step of producing a toner composition by mixing a macromonomer having hydrophilic group, hydrophobic group and at least one reactive functional group, at least one polymerizable monomer, and a polyfunctional polyester, with the colorant dispersion; a step of emulsion polymerizing the toner composition in a medium; and a step of separating and drying the polymerized toner. The toner produced by using the method, an image forming method for using the toner and an image forming apparatus employing the toner are also provided. The method easily controls the size, distribution and configuration of toner particles. In addition, the method minimizes a cleaning process, thereby decreasing the amounts of polluted water and waste water, which is very advantageous environmentally. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
