<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio oscillation device for a radar system which has high practicality by eliminating the need for a reception-side filter which has high requested specifications of a passing band and also by eliminating the need for an oscillation device and an amplifier which have high performance and high durability. <P>SOLUTION: This radio oscillation device is equipped with: an optical modulator 2 for oscillation; a modulating means 6 which inputs a modulation signal with a frequency fm to the optical modulator 2 to modulate a light carrier and superposes a sideband wave on the light carrier at a frequency-fm shifted position; a photodetector 7 for oscillation which receives exit light from the optical modulator 2 and converts it into an electric signal; and a radiation means 8 for radiating a radio signal having a frequency 2 fm, based upon the electric signal. An input voltage V<SB>p-p</SB>to the optical modulator is 1.0 to 1.99 time as high as a half-wave voltage V<SB>π</SB>of the optical modulator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
