PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly imaging apparatus which can deal with the switching of an operation mode during transfer processing. SOLUTION: When the switching of the operation mode is designated, a decision is made whether image data are in transfer processing or not (S907). If the image data are not in transfer processing, the operation mode is switched immediately (S917).
