PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve access performance concerning a logical disk management method and a virtualization device for managing a logical disk recognized as a single disk area from a host computer configured by using the storage area of at least one disk drive. SOLUTION: An array/slice defining part 121a configures an array constituted of the set of a slice with a fixed capacity defined by using the storage area of a disk drive. A logical disk defining part 121b configures a logical disk by combining a plurality of arbitrary slices in the array. A detection part 121f detects the slice where the load of a read access is high. A slice moving part 121c arranges a second area for storing the duplication of the data of a first area in the array where the detected slice is arranged in an array different from the array. A data read/write part 121d reads the data from the slice of either the first area or the second area in reading, and writes the same data in the slice corresponding to each of the first area and the second area in writing.
