PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch device immediately operated by the action of vibration caused by an earthquake, to appropriately prevent a drawer from sticking out due to the vibration. SOLUTION: A latch 1 comprises a base 10; a weight 11 supported to be rollable in the moving direction x of the drawer T when the vibration is applied; a driven part 12 formed on one end side with a contact part 121 with the weight 11 and pushed and moved by the weight 11 rolling from its reference position through the contact part 121; and a turning part 13 with one end side turnably assembled to the base 10 by a perpendicular shaft 131 and with the other end side formed as a fitting end 132 to a latch receiver 2. The driven part 12 is moved to turn the turning part 13 into a fitting position where the fitting end 132 is fitted to the latch receiver 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
