PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solution to a demand for a reinforcing method not by site welding in reinforcing work of a steel member in an existing steel construction such as an automobile factory or a painting factory where a fire breaks out easily. SOLUTION: One face out of the front and rear faces of a face body (a horizontal plate 11) of the existing steel member 1 is provided with intermediate plates 21 at the end faces of both side parts of the face body, and the other faces on both side parts of the face body are provided with other plates (upper plates 22). In a state of covering the one face, end faces and other faces on both side parts of the face body with the one plate, intermediate plates and other plates, the one plate, intermediate plates and other plates are connected to one another by bolts 26 and nuts 27 to fix the one plate, intermediate plates and other plates to the face body of the existing steel member.
