<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus whose maintainability can be improved and a developing cartridge detachably loaded in the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A gear mechanism part 45 includes an input gear 68 which moves to and away from the developing cartridge 28 along the width (right-left direction) and is energized to project to the left side from a coupling insertion hole 8 of a gear cover 77. The input gear 68 retracts to the right at a third wall part 48 and moves out to the left when facing a through hole 50 of a first wall part 49 to be coupled with a driving gear 73 when the developing cartridge 28 is loaded in a primary body casing 2. Further, a collar 42 abuts against the input gear 68 when the input gear is coupled and when the collar 42 is moved to the right as a front cover 7 is opened, the input gear 68 separates from the driving gear 73 to be decoupled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
