<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily and visually confirming the existence of sheets discharged to a paper discharge part. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with the paper discharge part formed in an image forming apparatus body 1 so as to be opened to the front X1 through a sheet ejecting open part so that sheets are discharged in right and left directions Y1, Y2 when it is observed from the front X1 and an aperture part 17 for lighting the paper discharge part 15. The aperture part 17 can guide light so that a space where the carrying direction rear end side of a sheet discharged to the paper discharge part 17 is located is not darkened.
