PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device (including gas laser) capable of efficiently emitting light with a small device configuration, at a low cost with long life. SOLUTION: The light source device comprises a microwave resonator 2 that generates the standing waves of microwaves in its internal space. A gas cell 6 which keeps a medium sealed up arranged in the internal space of the microwave resonator 2. The medium in the gas cell 6 is excited by the standing wave of microwaves to generate light. The gas cell 6 is exchangeably fitted to the microwave resonator 2. The generated light is outputted outside the microwave resonator 2 through a light lead-out hole 26.
