PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing an evaluating sample effective and easy to evaluate the uniformity of a polyurethane material. SOLUTION: In this method of the present invention, the polyurethane material is immersed into a liquid organic compound having 14-25 MPa<SP>1/2</SP>of solubility parameter. Clear ununiformity on visual appearance is recognized in the polyurethane material, by this manner, since the affinity, the permeability and the swelling property of the organic compound are different in an ununiform part and a uniform part in a composition of a polyurethane. The clear ununiformity on visual appearance is recognized by forming a bandlike, stripelike or sea-island-like shape, for example, with a highly transparent portion and an opaque portion.
