PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module in which consideration is given to eye safety and a design for manufacturing. SOLUTION: The optical communication module 1 comprises a lead frame 2, a laser diode 3 provided to the lead frame 2, and a transparent resin 4 as an adjusting means for expanding the optical output distribution of the laser diode 3 and for adjusting the output of the laser diode 3. The transparent resin 4 comprises a transparent resin 6 for sealing the laser diode 3, and a glass feeler 7 which is added to the transparent resin 6 and distributed substantially evenly over the entire transparent resin 6.
