PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a network device from executing processing based on a request from an unauthorized user. SOLUTION: When a request packet from a PC 203 is a configurator protocol, a device management module 405 that is one of modules of a control program of a network board 201 determines whether network setting is changed from a factory shipping value or not. When the network setting is changed from the factory shipping value as the result of determination, the device management module 405 does not execute set or reset of the network board 201 or a printer 202, even if it is requested by the request packet, thereby preventing, change or reset of network setting of the printer 202 by an unauthorized user.
