PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-closing type sliding door device capable of smoothly operating by rationalizing a constitution concentrically holding a piston rod so that a damper for alleviating collision and closing automatically in the case of closing motion of a sliding door can be smoothly operated even if a stroke of the damper becomes long and being compactly formed. SOLUTION: The self-closing type sliding door device is so constituted that an air damper 15 buffering deceleration in the case of door closing to a door body 10 of the sliding door always providing force in the direction of the door closing thereto is stored and put on an inner upper part of a top-hinged swinging door rail member 5 placed along a top rail 2 in an opening section of a building, the front end of an expansion rod 16 of the air damper 15 is supported by the top-hinged swinging door rail member 5 and is maintained in the coaxial center tied to a travelable slider 17 and that a catcher 26 attached to the front end of the slider 17 and an interlocking piece 24 attached to a sash-hanger-pulley 11 on the door tail side of the door body 10 can be connected to each other in a detachable manner.
